Carlos Silva, un cantante de opera y director musical venezolano, esta listo para estrenar su ultima produccion, "Y como fue? Una historia de Benny More," en el Westchester Cultural Arts Center el 18 y 19 de mayo de 2024. Este viaje musical inmersivo a traves de las canciones del musico cubano Benny More, ambientado en un cabaret de los anos 50, promete cautivar al publico. El reconocido actor Franklin Virguez interpreta a un viejo trompetista cuya vida se transforma por un encuentro fatidico con el "Rey del Son" cubano. Se anima a los asistentes a vestirse elegantemente para esta noche magica de musica.

This performance is part of Miami-Dade County Auditorium's Away From Home Series. Programming continues to thrive during this period of renovation through the Away From Home Series. The series consists of off-site performances presented at alternative venues with community partners, ensuring that the magic of the performing arts continues to captivate audiences throughout this transition period. The Away From Home Series presents dance, theatre, and music performances that take place at a variety of South Florida facilities and cultural centers. Join us this Sunday, May 19th at Lummus Park for a live musical performance featuring Joel DaSilva Blues & Roots band! This is free, family-friendly event!

Joel DaSilva is an American/Brazilian/Ukrainian guitarist, singer and songwriter hailing from Chicago, Illinois, currently based in Florida. With blues and rock n roll running through his veins, he plays Americana, Blues, Country, Funk, Jam, R&B/Soul, Rock, Rockabilly.

Bio:
His aura is combustible neo-soul-roots sound which combines elements of hi-fi garage blues with a driving roots rock and roll. Joel tours the states and overseas quite often performing at high end venues and festivals and is the son of traveling musicians from Brazil. DaSilva lost his father at age 3, which had a profound impact on the young artist’s life. At the age of 18, DaSilva joined his first blues outfit as the lead guitarist for “Junior Drinkwater and the Thirstquenchers”, then went onto swing rockabilly outfit “the Regulators”, then for several years after that with the very popular high energy band “the Hep Cat Boo Daddies”.

DaSilva has worked alongside such widely recognized and diverse artists as B.B.King, Buddy Guy, Ray Charles, the Bee Gees, the White Stripes, A.C. Reed, the Fabulous Thunderbirds, Reverend Horton Heat, Foghat, Los Lobos, Leon Russell, the Black Crowes, Molly Hatchet, the Nighthawks, Edgar and Johnny Winter, JJ Grey, Clarence Clemmons, Jeff Beck, Dick Dale, the Blue Oyster Cult, Robby Krieger, and Jimmie Vaughan....and many more and continue to grow. He is the real deal.

The globetrotting musician brings a stellar quintet of musicians for a concert at the North Beach Bandshell for the March 18 edition of North Beach Social, including exquisite charango, quena, guitar, piano, bombo and the iconic bandoneon.

The show will include visuals and dance as well. The opening set features bandoneon player Javier Sanchez, and the evening is hosted by Cuci Amador. Fama will play songs from her 2021 release Patagonia, which she created with gratitude for the unconditional magic and beauty that nature offers us.

The "Jazz in Motown" show is a kickoff Celebration honoring Black Music Month, with an ode of musical arrangements to the Hitsville USA musicians who were some of the best Jazz Cats in the world.
