Miami New Drama (MiND) is taking on an ambitious production to open its 2017 season as the new resident repertoire theater at the Colony Theater.

The play, "Terror," which will be directed by two-time Tony Award winner Gregory Mosher, is the American adaptation and translation of a German play created by Ferdinand von Schirach. The original German version has been translated not only in its script, but also to be consistent with American law, according to the producers.

Yet, the twist here is in the interactivity of the drama – the audience is cast as jurors as the storyline follows a pilot facing trial after she has shot down a hijacked commercial flight headed for a crowded stadium. Her fate is in the audience’s hands. To further the show’s interactive quality and to track the theatrical trial’s verdict, audiences are able to check statistics of votes on http://terror.theater. The statistics show the distribution of audience votes of “guilty” and “not guilty” as the play unfolds.

The cast includes international, national and local actors in keeping with MiND’s mission to present world-class works by American, Latin American, and international artists designed for Miami's unique multicultural 21st century audience while also nurturing local talent.

"Terror" opens Jan. 26 and runs through Feb. 19. Opening night is Saturday, Jan. 28.
